The aim of this proposal is to test a revised version of the procedure for observing bright objects with the FOC. This will be accomplished by makeing a DARK exposure immediately preceding an observation of a faint spectro- photometric standard star (LB227). The fixed target pointing will be 30 arcsec north (J2000) of the actual stellar position-- a pointed uplink will be required to a., make certain the proper filters are in place and only then b., move the telescope onto the target for the observation.
