As a part of the Science Verification of UVES, five giant stars in the two old clusters of the LMC ESO 121-SC03 and NGC 2210 were observed with UVES, the high resolution échelle spectrograph recently commissioned on the VLT of ESO. The oxygen abundance has been measured in these two old clusters and compared to the oxygen abundance measured in our Galaxy and in the young matter of the LMC.
