A small Rb-87 maser with a TE(sub 011) mode cavity is studied. The feedback loop technique similar to that of a compact H maser is utilized. The continuous oscillation is confirmed from the fact that the oscillation began only when the laser diode light irradiated an Rb-87 maser cell in the cavity. In addition to the Rb-87 maser, the continuous oscillation of maser using a natural Rb cell is also obtained.
