A simple method is proposed for solving light curves of partial eclipsing binaries for approximate values of the light and orbital elements, which only requires that the two components have different color indices. Although the method neglects the limb darkening and proximity effects, results are suitable as the starting points in more advanced algorithms and rigorous numerical methods.
