The metal abundance of the globular cluster Ruprecht 106 was determined spectroscopically, using the 'reddening independent' method described by Armandroff and Da Costa (1991). It was found that the abundance of the Ruprecht cluster equals the value suggested by Buonanno et al. (1990), thereby removing the contradiction with the result of VandenBerg et al. (1990).
