We report the detection of a line at the frequency of the v(2) = l; 0(0) - 1(0) line of vibrationally excited ammonia at 466.244 GHz towards Orion-KL. The observation was made with the CSO telescope at Mauna Kea, Hawaii. Comparison with an earlier observation of the 2(1a) - 1(1a) line at 140 GHz shows that both lines can indeed be attributed to vibrationally excited ammonia. The results indicate that the excitation is due to 10/-micron IR radiation emitted by local dust with a temperature of 160-180 K, which is evidence for a close coupling between gas and dust temperatures in the Orion hot core.
