Consideration is given to the evolution of nitrogen and oxygen abundances in irregular dwarf galaxies within the framework of the closed box model of the chemical evolution of galaxies. It is shown that the basic observed features of N and O abundances in H II regions of irregular dwarf galaxies can be reproduced in a relatively simple way if the giant H II regions are self-enriched. Giant oxygen-poor H II regions having the same observed N/O abundance ratio as the giant oxygen-rich H II regions are seen at the initial stage of star-formation bursts. Giant oxygen-poor H II regions having a lower N/O abundance ratio in comparison with the giant oxygen-rich H II regions are seen at an advanced stage of star formation bursts. The chemical evolution of giant H II regions associated with a compact star cluster differs considerably from the chemical evolution of the H II region connected with the individual star.
