A series of time resolved echelle spectra obtained with ELODIE have been used to derive chemical abundances in the post-AGB star, HD 56126. The effective temperature has been derived from the spectral energy distribution and the surface gravity by fiting synthetic spectra to lines sensitive to pressure. The problem of selecting lines suitable to abundance determination in the atmosphere of this pulsating star is discussed and results for C, N, O and other elements will be presented.
