The GalICS project (for Galaxies in Cosmological Simulations) uses the outputs of large, cosmological N-body simulations to describe the gravitational collapse of dark matter (DM), and semi-analytical recipes to model the fate of baryons in the potential wells of DM halos. The multi-wavelength statistical properties of galaxies are predicted in the halo merging history trees, and compared to observational samples. The Mock Map Facility (MoMaF) transforms synthetic catalogs into realistic images of deep fields that can be used to prepare observational strategies with forthcoming instruments.
