The effect of the occultation of the inner region of an accretion disc and the reflection of the wall on the emergent continuous spectra of accretion discs is examined. When the central portion of a disc is not occulted, the emergent spectra of the disc are shown to be consistent with the standard steady accretion disc spectra, and the existence of the wall can be ignored. In the opposite case, the emergent spectra have indices that are different from 1/3 in the intermediate frequency range; the indices can assume a negative value. The results of the study may help explain the continuous spectra of some dwarf novae.
