The gamma-ray energy deposition functions, light curves, and spectra have been computed for a set of theoretical Type Ia supernova models including deflagration, detonation, delayed detonation, and tamped detonation models. The results have been obtained with a Monte Carlo gamma-ray deposition scheme that takes all relevant gamma transitions and interaction processes into account. The computations demonstrate that Type Ia supernova models can be discriminated and that the absolute amount of Ni-56 synthesized in the event can be determined from the gamma-ray light curves and spectra.
