The fundamental frequencies of nonradial (Kelvin) mode of oscillation of completely degenerate configurations have been evaluated in the first as well as the second approximation by a variational method. The computations have been made for different values of the central degeneracy parameter and for uniform temperatures of 2 x 10 exp 7 K and 10 exp 8 K in the interior. The zero-temperature white dwarf calculations confirm the existence of a crossover in frequency between the fundamental radial (p) mode (l = 0) and the f or Kelvin (l = 2) mode at about 0.45 solar mass. For hot white dwarf models under consideration this resonance condition between the two modes remains unchanged.
