Scientific paper

Space physics, astrophysics, and life science programs are described. Rocket, balloon, and ground based studies of the atmosphere (especially the ionosphere) and solar radiation are outlined. Ultraviolet investigation of the upper atmospheric layers of the Sun and stars is summarized. Photometry of peculiar stars, comet astrometry, and cosmic radiation at lambda = 3 cm are mentioned. Graviperception and responses in higher plants were studied.
