The Lifshitz method of perturbation theory was used to examine the question of the gravitational stability of the Einstein generalized stationary cosmological model. It is shown that this model is stable with respect to the growth of small linear perturbations. It is noted that this model excludes all the insufficiencies that follow as particular cases of the Einstein (M = 1) and de Sitter (M = cos x1) cosmological models, describes well the steady state of the Metagalaxy, and can be used to describe certain features of neutron stars and black holes. However, this model cannot be used to describe processes of the formation of galaxies through the growth of small linear perturbations of density.
