Silicon Stars:Spectral Variations
Scientific paper
The equivalent widths of 29 lines in the spectrum of the peculiar silicon Ap star HD 27309 were measured on 7 spectrograms with a dispersion of 9 Å/mm. The results show that line intensities of Si II, Fe II and Ti II vary by about 40% over the cycle of the star. According to Peterson's blanketing hypothesis the obtained spectrum variations are in phase with the photometric variations.
