Observational upper limits are given to the strengths of the undetected emission lines O III 5592 A and forbidden line Ni IX 4594 A in several well observed Seyfert galaxies. The 5592 A upper limits show that the O III charge-exchange process does not contribute appreciably to the observed strength of 4363 A and thus does not appreciably modify the O III intensity ratio from which the temperature in the O (++) zone is derived. The 4594 A upper limits are consistent with normal Ni:Fe abundance ratios of about 0.1 in these objects, but would not be consistent with Ni:Fe of about 1.
