Published multicolor observations of VX Cas, UX Ori, and WW Vul are interpreted under the assumption that the photospheric radiation of the star is screened by a variable dust layer. The relative intensities of the photosphere and the nominal chromosphere are calculated in the bands of the UBV system, and the optical properties of the dust layer are determined. The calculated magnitude-color index dependences agree satisfactorily with the observations.
