The time scale for cooling of a relativistic Maxwellian electron-positron plasma by production of hadronic resonances (ρ, ω, φ, Ψ, Ψarcmin) in energetic e+ - e- collisions is calculated. The comparison with electromagnetic cooling processes, in particular elastic two-body collisions, shows that the hadronic time scale is at least two orders of magnitude larger than the two-body relaxation time scale in plasmas without magnetic field.
