The SMAC project aims towards a reliable map of the peculiar velocity field traced by galaxy clusters, to a depth of 120 Mpc, using the Fundamental Plane as a distance indicator. My presentation will cover : SMAC sample properties; data collection and construction of a homogeneous spectroscopic and photometric catalogue; the inverse FP as a distance indicator; the FP for 60 clusters; the Mg-sigma relation and stellar population effects; distances and peculiar velocity measurements; comparisons with Tully-Fisher and BCG results.
