We describe new developments of the StarGazer(SG) - a star field visualization system and its integration to Wide-Field Plate Database (WFPDB) (http://www.skyarchive.org). The SG astronomical software system is designed for star field visualization based on stellar and deep-sky object catalogues (YBS, SAO, Tycho, GSC-ACT, USNO A2, NGC, IC, etc.) The database contains over 60 million objects. SG is written in Perl and a web-based client-server architecture is used. PostgreSQL is used for storage and searching. SG is available online at http://www.skyarchive.org/stargazer. We are reporting the support of variable star catalogues like GCVS in StarGazer and the attempt to use it as a base for automatic identification of stars on the digital images and digitalized photographic plates.
