We present observations of Paβ and Brγ for a sample of classical T Tauri stars in Taurus, and find a tight correlation between the emission-line luminosities and the accretion luminosity as measured from the hot continuum excess. This correlation can be used as a quantitative diagnostic of accretion in young stars for which the standard diagnostic, the hot continuum excess emitted by the accretion shock, is inapplicable (including heavily extincted objects and hotter, more massive stars). To this end, we have applied the line luminosity calibration to a sample of Taurus and Ophiuchus embedded (Class I) objects with previously published line luminosities, and a sample of G-type T Tauri stars in Taurus and Orion for which we obtained emission line observations. We thus present the first quantitative measurements of the disk accretion luminosities for Class I objects and G-type T Tauri stars. In both cases, the results are comparable to what has been measured in the archetypical K7/M0 classical T Tauri stars.
