Observations with the Chandra X-ray Observatory have revealed X-ray emission from the jets, lobes, and hot spots of several radio galaxies. Due to the lack of confining gas, it is generally argued that this emission is nonthermal. We examine a model where the beamed γ radiation from the central source passes through and is attenuated by the synchrotron radiation in the jet and hot spots to form an additional injection source of high-energy leptons. The lepton-synchrotron radiation contributes to the X-ray flux. Although this model does not explain the X-ray emission in the hot spots of PKS 0637-752, which is probably Compton-scattered background radiation, it could form some of the X-ray emission in Pictor A. Synchrotron jets in other radio-galaxies will also be formed by this process when high-energy gamma rays from radio-loud active galactic nuclei are attenuated by the cosmic diffuse background radiation.
