Several of the narrow diffuse interstellar bands exhibit an intrinsic fine structure, including the 6614, 5797, and 5850 Angstroms bands. This fine structure has been variously attributed to either rotational band structure or to isotropic energy shifts in large molecules. Here we show that there are distinct changes in the shape of the 6614 Angstroms band in different lines of sight, but that the width of the feature changes very little. Implications of these profile variations for the different models is discussed.
