Cosmology: Tests

Scientific paper

Why is the sky - during the day as well as at night - not as bright as
the Sun, with every direction in space leading to the surface of a star?
Olbers' own answer, that the light of distant stars will be absorbed in
space, turned out to be wrong. Modern cosmological observations seem to
permit a satisfactory answer.
