Radial velocities of the visual binary H.D. 53299 (A.D.S. 5752), obtained with spectrometers at Victoria, Cambridge and Palomar, indicate that the primary is a spectroscopic binary with a period close to 5.72 days. The fainter component of this close pair has not been detected. The visual companion's velocity has not varied perceptibly during the past ten years, in contrast with predictions from all published elements except those of van den Bos. Future observations should yield much information on the masses and luminosities of the components of this triple system.
