Lunar and meteorite material were analyzed in order to study the long term variation of the fluxes and spectral energies of solar flare associated energetic particles (solar cosmic rays) and galactic cosmic rays. A 1 kg fragment of the Dhursmala meteorite was fractioned in six samples to measure cosmogenic noble gases, radionuclides, and particle tracks. Data indicates that the sample was inside a large meteoroid where the production profiles of cosmogenic isotopes are flat. It is demonstrated that solar flare neon composition is different from solar wind neon composition, and that lunar soil samples yield consistant solar cosmic ray ages with those determined independently by particle track methods.
