We present detailed 2D simulations of the evolution of Wolf-Rayet ring nebulae expanding around stars which move through the interstellar medium. Attention is paid to a description of how the circumstellar matter is processed by the previous action of the stellar wind during the red supergiant phase. In particular, the radiative bow shock around the red supergiant star suffers strong dynamical instabilities whose development influences the evolution of the ring nebula. The models are compared with some observed ring nebulae.
