From a set of six early A and five late B stars, it is established that a interstellar absorption due to Si IV ions is present in the direction of Centaurus. The hot interstellar gas responsible for these absorptions could originate from a shock front produced by a supernova explosion in the Sco-Cen association passed through the cold local interstellar medium. Results based on IUE observations at high resolution are discussed.
