Within the framework of a large campaign of coordinated multifrequency observations of the T Tauri star RU Lupi, results obtained in X-ray, UV, optical and IR spectral regions are presented. In five cases, simultaneous data from UV to IR were collected. Data analysis shows a large variability at different wavelengths in the continuum and lines, except in the IR, being stronger in the UV. Correlations among variations in the UV and optical continuum and Balmer lines are found. The strong and weak UV and optical luminosity enhancements are correlated with small variations in the IR. The analysis also excludes any periodicity in these variations. This suggest that they are due to a strong activity in the surface layers of the star and burst phenomena on large scale. No forbidden coronal lines are detected in UV and optical region with IUE and ESO 1.4 m CAT telescope, respectively. Either the instruments are not sensitive enough to detect the predicted forbidden lines, or the low X-ray detected intensity is due to the absorption of the X-ray in the circumstellar envelope.
