Galaxy Pairs: Seyfert Galaxies, Interacting Galaxies: Active Galactic Nuclei
Scientific paper
Isolated galaxy pairs are considered an ideal laboratory where to study galaxy interaction processes, as they are free of all secondary and misleading structures such as those displayed in higher clustering systems. The authors investigate the occurence of Seyfert galaxies in isolated pairs, in order to identify statisically significant constraints on the interaction - nuclear activity relation concerning morphology and environmental parameters.
