We have analyzed the theoretical center-to-limb variation of the visible and IR continuum radiation in an expanding atmosphere which includes a chromospheric structure. We found that limb brightening may occur in the near-IR wavelength range. The computed surface brightness distribution might help to determine the actual angular diameter of the envelopes of Be stars and, hence, the monochromatic stellar radius. We have computed the extension of the continuum-forming regions at different wavelengths for several models.
