Molecular Hydrogen, Shock Waves, Outflows

Scientific paper

A description of the development of the use of H2 lines as
diagnostics of shock excitation in molecular clouds is given. The use of
both line ratios and of velocity profiles provides constraints on the
models so tight that it may be possible to reject most or even all of
the standard stationary shock models.
