The results of UBV photoelectric observations of Pleione (BU Tau) during the shell episode in 1971 - 1986 are presented. The beginning of shell episode was found photometrically in autumn 1971, before its spectroscopic discovery. Total amplitude of brightness variation reached ΔU = 0m.60, ΔB = 0m.43 and ΔV = 0m.35. Variations of B-V were small. The U-B colour varied from -0m.36 to +0m.02 in the maximum and minimum of brightness. Displacement of the star on the two-colour plot (U-B) - (B-V) may be connected mainly with the increase of absorption in the Balmer continuum during the shell episode.
