uvby-ß photometry has been obtained for F-type stars in 7 southern open clusters and existing photometry of 6 northern clusters has been checked. Both sets of photometry are close to the standard uvby-ß system. The mean errors of the indices b-y, m1, c1 and ß are found to be ±0.004, ±0.006, ±0.006, and ±0.008 mag, respectively. The data for all clusters have been analyzed in a homogenous way. Probable binaries and nonmembers are eliminated on the basis of the derived distance modulus. Accurate values of the colour excess and metal abundance of the clusters are determined. Significant differences in [Fe/H] between clusters of the same age are found.
