We present multi-frequency (1.4 GHz, 5 GHz and 8 GHz) observations of radio recombination lines of the HII region Sharpless 252 obtained with the Arecibo Telescope. Hydrogen and carbon lines were detected but not helium. The hydrogen emission at 1.4 GHz shows a narrow and a broad line components. The broad line is consistent with emission from the HII region while the narrow line is believed to come from a colder partial ionized medium (HI zone) just outside of the HII region. The detected carbon lines have similar central velocities to the velocity of the ambient molecular cloud. The carbon emission and the HI emission are interpreted as arising from the photodissociated gas around the HII region.
