The Spitzer Space Telescope has undertaken the deepest ever observations of the 24 micron sky in the European Large Area ISO Survey-N1 (ELAIS-N1) field. These observations reach flux limits which are almost a factor of 1000 more sensitive than IRAS and reliably detect sources that are more than a factor of two fainter than the completeness limit of the ISOCAM 15 micron surveys in the HDF-N. We present and discuss the number density and nature of the 24 micron sources detected and assess their contribution to the extragalactic background light. Constraints on the dust correction to the cosmic star-formation history at z<2 will also be discussed.
