The Mauna Loa Solar Observatory (MLSO), operated by HAO, provides solar data from a suite of instruments designed to observe the solar atmosphere at a variety of heights. The Mk4 K-coronameter observes the white light K-corona from 1.12 to 2.79 solar radii, the Chromospheric Helium Imaging Photometer (CHIP) observes the chromosphere at 1083.0 nm, and the H-alpha prominence and solar disk monitor (PICS) provides observations at 656.3 nm. Each of these instruments provides data every three minutes throughout the observing day ( 17:00 - 02:00 UT).
This (talk/poster) will outline HAO's efforts to serve MLSO data to the solar research community and the general public, both independently and as part of the Virtual Solar Observatory (VSO). We will (discuss/present) what sort of research efforts are best suited to our datasets and how potential users can obtain them. We will also provide a brief (discussion/presentation) of some of the details of our data serving capabilities and mySQL interfaces.
Because our data serving hardware and web page are designed to be compatible with the efforts of the VSO team, HAO stands ready to interface with the VSO when it becomes possible to accept more data providers.
