The non-thermal nebula surrounding PSR B1509-58 in the composite supernova remnant (SNR) MSH 15-52 (also known as G320.4-1.2) is the second brightest pulsar-powered nebula in the X-ray sky, and is thus optimal for a detailed study of the interaction of a young pulsar's wind with its surroundings. The pulsar wind nebula displays striking asymmetric jet-like structures, and there is strong evidence of interaction between the pulsar jets and the SNR shell. We propose to use the sensitivity and comparatively large field of view of XMM to study the large-scale, diffuse emission from this highly anisotropic pulsar wind interacting with the surrounding SNR, focussing in particular on the SE jet, the central diffuse nebula, and the SNR rims.
