Two recent galactic novae, V2487 Oph (N Oph 1998) and V4633 Sgr (N Sgr 1998), are very interesting X-ray sources, showing both soft and hard emission. V2487 Oph shows an iron fluorescent line very early (2-3 years) after its explosion, which is a clear signature of a very fast recovery of the accretion stream. Longer observations are needed to do accurate timing and to get high resolution spectra, in order to determine the main properties of the underlying cataclysmic variable (magnetic field, mass, orbital and rotation periods of the white dwarf; chemical composition, geometry and thermal properties of the ejecta and disk). V2487 Oph and V4633 Sgr offer an unique opportunity to study the link between the accretion and explosion phases of novae in cataclysmic variables.
