We propose to observe the recently discovered dusty colliding wind binaries, WR 98a, WR 104, and WR 112. Of all the phenomena caused by the collision of stellar winds in early-type binary systems, perhaps the most unexpected is the formation of dust. XMM spectra of these systems will provide important information on the luminosity function of colliding wind binaries (these systems fall within a period gap which currently exists in parameter space), will help to determine the wind parameters of each component star, will probe for enhanced cooling as a necessary means for the formation of dust, and will form an important dataset for tests of the hypothesis that all late-WC stars form in binaries via Roche-lobe overflow.
