We propose to use WFPC2 to make synoptic-scale observations of the atmosphere of Neptune. These observations will allow us to follow up and expand on our successful Cycle 4 WFPC2 Neptune program. The new observations will place more stringent constraints on the composition and the vertical structure of the clouds and hazes above the main cloud deck. They will also help to resolve the nature, longevity, and dynamics of the bright streaks, dark spots, and other large-scale features observed by during the Voyager Neptune encounter and our Cycle 4 program.
