I will summarize recent observations of the highest redshift quasars and their relations to the first star formation and cosmic reionization. I will discuss the Gunn-Peterson effect in the quasar spectra and its implication to the history of reionization. I will present results on the evolution of quasar luminosity function at the highest redshift and the contribution of quasars/AGNs to the high-redshift ionizing background. I will also discuss the evidences of chemical enrichment and intensive star-formation activity in the high-redshift quasar environment. Finally, I will comment on the prospects of finding quasars at z>7 with existing or planned surveys.
