We present the results of a photometric monitoring campaign of the W-R binary HD5980 conducted in November--December 1995, 16 months after the LBV-like outburst of one of the components of the system. On the basis of almost 800 y-band measurements, an improved orbital ephemeris is derived. We also report the discovery of a coherent 6h periodic oscillation visible in the Stromgren b and y bands with amplitudes ~ 0fm025 . This short period may be related to pulsations of the primary or secondary component. Based on observations obtained at the European Southern Observatory at La Silla, Chile (observing proposals ESO~56-D0392 and 56-D0249).
