Substantial star formation often occurs in the tidal debris of interacting galaxy pairs and groups. However, the packaging of the star formation is varied. Sometimes stars form in clusters reminiscent of the predecessors of globular clusters, and other times they form primarily in a tidal clump that is the size and mass of a dwarf galaxy. I report on a few recent projects that I have done with collaborators. We have been trying to identify the factors that determine whether star clusters or tidal dwarfs form in the debris of interacting pair. We have also undertaken a multiwavelength program to study Hickson compact groups. We suggest that Hickson compact groups can be on one of two evolutionary sequences depending on whether gas is converted within the galaxies or outside of the galaxies.
