We present new results of a subsample of RR Lyraes observed with the first generation Robotic Optical Transient Search Experiment (ROTSE-I) telescope. The RR Lyraes in the ROTSE-I survey probe the inner halo and thick disk components of the Galaxy within about 7 kiloparsecs of the Sun. Thus, the ROTSE-I survey is an ideal database that bridges previous surveys of the Galactic bulge and outer halo. We have used light curve Fourier parameters, amplitudes, and periods to determine metal abundances for RRab variables. The capabilities and limitations of these photometric techniques are discussed, as are implications of photometric metallicites for the Oosterhoff classification of field RR Lyrae variables.
