The effect of a rotating body on a point mass is analyzed by considering the interaction between two material points, with allowance made for the body propagation velocity and the relative velocity of the material points in an inertial reference system. It is shown that, during the rotation of a body, a transverse component of the interaction force exists which affects the test point mass. In the case of the interaction between the sun and the planets, the transverse interaction force component can explain the observed direct revolution of the planets in the same plane and the very fact of the existence of their orbits in the presence of the aerodynamic resistance to their motion in the interplanetary gas medium.
