The High Energy Stereoscopic System (H.E.S.S.) experiment is an array of four imaging Cerenkov telescopes devoted to gamma-ray astronomy above 100 GeV. Observations started in July 2002, with the first telescope, and continued with different upgrades, the system being completed in December 2003. The BL Lac PKS2155-304 is one of the main H.E.S.S. targets and has been observed for over 80 hours during 2002 and 2003. The source was found active in all periods of observation by H.E.S.S. . With a redshift of 0.116, this source could also provide informations on the extragalatic infra-red background.
