Four polar ring galaxies and the large low surface brightness disk
galaxy Malin 1 were surveyed for CO line emission with the IRAM 30 m and
SEST 15 m telescopes. Although all are rich in H I, no molecular gas was
detected in any of these galaxies, perhaps because the gas and dust
densities are too low for conversion of much H I to H2.
