The cataclysmic variable V794 Aql was found to have dropped from its normal magnitude range of B ≈ 14 - 17 to B ≈ 20. In this very low state the accretion-disk emission lines were replaced by very narrow Balmer emission. This behavior is very similar to that of MV Lyr and a few other systems in which the accretion apparently switches off for brief periods of time.
