Long-term pulsar timing offers a unique opportunity to test alternative
theories of gravity. As it turns out, pulsar timing is extremely
sensitive to longitudinal gravitational wave modes. We place upper
limits on the strain amplitude of longitudinal modes and discuss the
theoretical implications of this result.
